Class Webpages (Spring 2018):
Physics 101: Students need to have a copy of the textbook (Hewitt) to do the reading,
but an older edition is fine. There are also several copies of the textbook on reserve at
the library if you do not want to buy it.
Physics 101 LAB: Students need to buy the lab manual from the bookstore and bring it
to every class meeting. It is quite affordable, please make sure you purchase it by week 2.
You must write directly in the manual and you are NOT permitted to share or photocopy
another student's manual.
Physics 105/106 & 110/111: The textbook for these courses is available online and FREE.
It can be accessed in web page or PDF format, or purchased as a bound book for a fee.
I recommend buying a printed copy of the textbook, but you are only required to have
access to the free online version. There are also several copies of the textbook on
reserve at the library if you do not want to buy it.
Physics 105/106 & 110/111, one more thing: All of my course materials are available FREE
on Canvas for students enrolled in the course, including my old exams. Please do not buy the
course materials from anyone who has previously taken this class. (I also hold the copyright
on all my course materials, please see my syllabus for the full copyright statement.)
