Linda
Ramsey, a teacher at Talkeetna Elementary School,
asked me to do an introduction to Physics for her fifth grade class. She also
invited Joe Page's sixth grade class to attend. It was a great
morning. The students were very bright and interactive, and I had fun
being Professor Physics, as they decided to call me. It is fun to get
back to my roots and teach basic physics, regardless of the level. These
kids were awesome. I hope they invite me back. Since I did not have
access to a physics lab, I took all the demonstration apparatus from my
workshop. Now they want to see my workshop! The greatest compliment
was that the class offered to give up recess if I would continue the
demonstrations. Wow, that never happened at college.
Best, Elwood.
